We're Going to the Zoo, Zoo, Zoo

Ben and I headed to the Woburn Safari Park a few Saturdays ago to celebrate his arrival home after living in Denmark for six months. We began our day at the zoo by doing the safari and boy, did we pick a scorcher of a day to sit in a non-air conditioned car for two hours! It reached 35 degrees in the car and we ended up being two very sweaty Betty's... Sexy!

As soon as I spotted the first glimpse of a rhino, I turned in to a child again, pressing my face up against the window, in awe of the animals and taking way too many pictures (much to Ben's annoyance). Being inches away from free roaming lions is cool and having giraffes walk right next to the car is exciting!

Ben was very excited to see his favourite animal :-)

What a cute little dear thing!

Whilst we were there we there, I roped Ben in to feeding the exotic birds in the hot house. It was empty as it was about 40 degrees inside due to the heat. Anyway, we bought our little pots of nectar and headed on in with a warning that the birds may not be hungry due to the heat. However, they lapped it all up! One bird had a little accident on Ben that made him look like he had an accident... I did take a picture but I'll save him the embarrassment by posting it on the internet ;-)

Clearly way too happy to be feeding the birdies!

We also checked out the monkey enclosure which allowed you to walk in with them and although they were shy, I was still able to take some pretty decent shots of the cheeky monkeys. I just wanted to take one of them home and call him Marseille! (If you watch Friends then I hope you appreciate this).

Overall it was a perfect day spend with the boyfriend! I was absolutely shattered that I almost fell asleep in the car on the way home! I can't wait for our next day trip out!

Oh I Do Like to be Beside the Seaside.

I've recently just returned from a wonderful few days in the Isle of Wight visiting my dear Granny. It was so lovely just to get away and have a little down time after the stresses of uni exams and final assignments. Whenever I go there it just feels like time stands still and all my worries just drift away!

Mine and Granny Hill's afternoon tea :-)

I can't say I did an awful lot there however, mainly just went out for tea, made lots of bunting and walked on the beach but that's my idea of heaven really.

The Isle of Wight is such a beautiful place and it just looks so British! Bunting lining every street, old tea shops and charity shops filled with vintage treasures.

Ben Howard at Hammersmith

The long awaited night had finally arrived to head to the Hammersmith Apollo, London to see the wonderfully talented Ben Howard. The show was absolutely INCREDIBLE! It's unusual nowadays for an artist to be better live than on their album but Benjamin is a definite exception of this. The passion he puts in to his shows is just mesmerizing.

Despite being sat right at the back I still managed to get a few snaps with my super zoomy camera!

He performed two new sparkly songs much to the enjoyment of the audience and it was lovely to get a live first listen of the songs. Ben also performed most of the songs from his Every Kingdom album and his Burgh Island EP. The show ended with a jaw dropping encore that had those who stuck around for it, on their feet applauding.

This wasn't the first time I had seen him live and I sure hope it wasn't the last!

Blog Introduction

I'm not quite sure where this blog will take me or what direction it will take but the intentions are simple. It will mainly cover lifestyle and perhaps the occasional beauty/fashion related post. I just feel that I'm at a point in my life where I'd like to start documenting my life.

In order to get this blog ball rolling a little, I figured I do 25 facts about me, as inspired by the very lovely Louise (Sprinkle of Glitter) which you can read here!
